The Sales Specialist, Venue & Events is responsible for driving earned revenue through venue bookings, community and corporate sponsorships, and the growth of mission-aligned social enterprise opportunities. This role leads all outbound and inbound sales activity to improve attendance, profitability, and community impact.
The ideal candidate is a results-oriented relationship builder who can identify practical opportunities to grow unrestricted revenue while supporting the organization's mission.

Lead revenue generation efforts related to venue rentals, third-party event bookings, and mission-aligned sales opportunities.

Manage the full sales cycle for venue and event bookings, including lead generation, client outreach, site tours, proposal development, negotiation, and contracting.

Grow and optimize events by identifying opportunities to increase sponsorship, attendance, participation, and net revenue.

Develop and implement sales strategies and create leads that position the organization's spaces, events, and related services as compelling options for community, corporate, and partner audiences.

Build and steward relationships with sponsors, community partners, and clients to support repeat business and long-term revenue growth.

Identify and advance social enterprise opportunities that align with the organization's mission, values, and community impact goals.

Collaborate with internal teams to align sales efforts with marketing, donor relations, and organizational revenue priorities.

Prepare quotes, agreements, booking documentation, and revenue reports with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.

Monitor sales activity, booking pipelines, and conversion rates, using data to inform decisions and improve results.

Contribute to annual revenue targets, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reviews for event and venue-related income streams.

Deliver an exceptional client experience from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up, helping strengthen the organization's reputation and encourage repeat business.

Ensure all bookings and sales activities align with organizational policies, risk management practices, and brand standards.

Improved performance and profitability of existing events through thoughtful sales and business development strategies.

High-quality client experiences that support repeat bookings and positive word-of-mouth referrals.

Formal education in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, or a related field is preferred.

A minimum of 4–6 years of progressive experience in event sales, business development, or hospitality sales.

Strong experience working with corporate and wedding clientele from a sales perspective.

Experience developing sales strategies and interpreting performance data is preferred.

Experience using catering and event management software.

Strong presentation and communication skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple high-value client accounts.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated through timely and accurate interactions with clients.

Initiative and persistence in pursuing new and returning business opportunities.

Strong analytical, forecasting, and organizational skills.

Confidence in networking and relationship building.

A clear Police Information Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search.

Full-time position (40 hours per week).

Primarily office-based, with on-site mobility required.

Attendance at industry events and networking functions is required.

Occasional evening and weekend work will be necessary.
