Are you a meticulous financial strategist with a talent for navigating complex analysis and forecasting? Do you excel in a collaborative environment where your insights drive pivotal decisions and support organizational goals?
Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Control, you will take charge of managing the financial planning and analysis process for FortisBC. You thrive on developing comprehensive financial forecasts, preparing detailed valuation models, and contributing to strategic project evaluations. If you’re passionate about leveraging financial insights to drive success and are skilled at managing multiple priorities, this position is tailored for you.

Build, maintain, and update comprehensive financial forecasts for the FortisBC group of companies, ensuring they are accurate and aligned with corporate objectives.

Prepare detailed earnings and capital forecasts to support corporate planning and regulatory filings and perform monthly and quarterly variance analyses on key metrics.

Develop and present valuation models to support fair value assessments, goodwill evaluations, and impairment analyses.

Assist in the financial and strategic evaluation of projects, considering financial impact, quality, risk, resources, customer effects, and regulatory requirements.

Support the treasury function in credit rating processes and capital structure forecasting and analysis.

Contribute to the planning and implementation of the budgeting process, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Work closely with senior managers to develop and implement strategies and initiatives aimed at achieving or exceeding earnings targets. And establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You have a bachelor’s degree in business or finance or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience, and a minimum of five (5) years of progressive senior accounting and financial analysis experience.

Experience within a regulated environment would be an asset.

You are results-driven with an incredible ability to problem-solve and make informed decisions.

You have strong leadership skills which include coaching and motivating your teams.

You have a natural ability to drive and implement change through planning and execution while keeping the customer experience in mind.

You are knowledgeable in the areas of budget concept and principles, regulatory framework, requirements, and business model.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
