Job Overview
We are the dealer for Xplore Internet seeking a motivated and dependable Telecom Field Technician who owns a reliable vehicle such as a van, truck, or SUV to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining telecommunication systems at various client sites. Your energetic approach and technical expertise will ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance of network infrastructures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work independently while contributing to vital communication solutions that keep businesses connected and operational.

-Piece rate after training (estimated 60-110k/year)
-Dental/medical benefits after a successful completion of 90 days probation period

Duties
- Install and troubleshoot Ethernet cabling, routers, modems and other networking equipment
- Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to perform cable pulls and equipment mounting with precision and safety.
- Maintain low voltage equipment and diagnose electrical issues related to telecommunication systems and implement effective solutions promptly.
- Perform routine inspections of installed systems to identify potential issues before they impact operations.
- Document all work performed accurately in service reports and upload pictures and related info in the field app.
Qualifications
- Previous telecom tech experience is an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools effectively for cable installation and equipment mounting.
- Knowledge of telecommunication systems including low voltage wiring, and electrical fundamentals.
- Familiarity with telecommunication standards, safety procedures, and best practices for working at various job sites.
- Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues efficiently using diagnostic tools.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; own a reliable vehicle suitable for transporting tools and equipment.
- Ability to carry and climb 28ft fiber glass ladder
- Ability to work outdoor and at heights
- Clean background (will be running a criminal check)
