Job Title: Lead Carpenter

Job Overview: As a Lead Carpenter, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing carpentry projects in residential homes. From forming to finishing, you will lead a team of carpenters to ensure the successful completion of projects within budget and on schedule. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential construction, exceptional leadership skills, strong attention to detail, a proven track record of high-end projects, and a passion for delivering high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Take charge of carpentry projects from start to finish, providing direction and guidance to a team of carpenters to ensure successful project completion.
- Carpentry Expertise: Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in all aspects of carpentry work, including framing, trim work, cabinetry installation, and other related tasks.
- Quality Control: Maintain rigorous quality control standards to ensure that all work meets or exceeds industry and company standards.
- Material Management: Efficiently manage materials and resources, including ordering and tracking inventory, to minimize waste and optimize project costs.
- Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients, addressing questions or concerns and providing updates on project progress.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other construction professionals, including project managers, subcontractors, and trades, to coordinate and execute project tasks seamlessly.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve challenges that may arise during the construction process, offering creative solutions to keep projects on track.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in residential carpentry.
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of residential construction techniques and materials and the BC Building Code
- Red Seal considered an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
