Dental Assistant – Monday to Thursday

One-Year Maternity Leave Position | Starting August 2026
South Coast Dental Care is looking for a friendly, dependable and motivated Dental Assistant to join our close-knit team for a one-year maternity leave position. This position has the potential to lead to permanent employment.
This position offers a consistent Monday-to-Thursday schedule with no weekends. We are a busy, established, patient-focused dental practice where teamwork, kindness and quality care are genuinely valued.
Position details
- Monday to Thursday
- No evenings or weekends
- Starting August 2026 - September 2027
- Initial one-year maternity leave position
- Potential to become a permanent position
Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance during a variety of general dental procedures
- Prepare operatories, instruments and materials for treatment
- Take digital radiographs
- Follow current sterilization and IPAC protocols
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records
- Assist with impressions, laboratory work and other clinical duties
- Help keep the clinical day organized and running smoothly
- Provide warm, compassionate care to our patients
- Work collaboratively with the dentist, hygienists and administrative team
What we are looking for
- Level II Dental Assistant certification (preferred)
- Current HARP certification
- Current CPR certification
- Strong knowledge of sterilization and infection-control procedures
- Dependable, organized and able to anticipate the needs of the dentist
- Friendly and professional with excellent communication skills
- Comfortable working in a busy general dental practice
- Previous dental assisting experience is an asset; confident new graduates are also encouraged to apply
- Experience with ClearDent is an asset
