Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott West Kelowna is looking for a reliable and hands-on Part-Time Maintenance & Property Attendant to join our team.
This position will support the overall maintenance, cleanliness and appearance of the hotel. The ideal candidate will be comfortable completing general maintenance duties while also assisting with cleaning and upkeep of common areas, hallways, parking areas and exterior grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections of the hotel, including guest areas, hallways, common areas, exterior areas and landscaping.
- Complete general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the property.
- Assist with basic maintenance of HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, fan units, thermostats and other hotel equipment.
- Identify and report faulty equipment, damaged materials and any unusual maintenance concerns to hotel management.
- Assist with fire and life-safety inspections, including alarms and fire extinguishers.
- Maintain the hotel pool and hot tub, including checking and recording chemical levels.
- Complete minor plumbing, electrical, furniture and fixture repairs as required.
- Perform painting, patching and touch-ups throughout the hotel.
- Maintain exterior grounds, including garbage and debris removal, sweeping entrances, weed removal, gutter cleaning and seasonal upkeep.
- Keep the parking lot, entrances and exterior areas clean and presentable.
- Vacuum and clean hallways, stairwells and common areas as required.
- Assist with general cleaning duties and property upkeep during scheduled shifts.
- Keep maintenance rooms, tools and work areas clean and organized.
- Respond to maintenance requests and support hotel operations as needed.
- Follow all hotel safety procedures and immediately report any hazards or concerns.
Qualifications:
- Previous hotel, building maintenance, handyman or similar experience is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and general building maintenance is an asset.
- Pool and hot tub maintenance experience is an asset.
- Comfortable completing both maintenance and cleaning duties.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks.
- Reliable, organized and detail-oriented.
- Physically able to lift, bend, stand and work indoors and outdoors.
- Must be available to work weekends and flexible shifts as required.
Schedule:
- Part-time
- Approximately 2–3 days per week
- Weekend availability required
- Hours may vary depending on hotel operational needs
