We are a high-volume residential roofing company installing 150+ roofs per year. As a GAF Certified Plus Contractor, we pride ourselves on top-tier quality, great crew culture, and solid organization. We run an efficient process using technology like CompanyCam to track our daily goals. With our Owner heading out on maternity leave this September, we are expanding to a two-crew system and need an experienced leader to spearhead our newest roofing crew.
We are looking for a Working Roofing Crew Leader. This is not a "sit-in-the-truck" management job. You will be wearing a tool belt, leading by example on the roof, and pacing your crew, while also handling basic site logistics, safety compliance, and digital tracking.
You will work closely with our Production Manager and Project Manager to hit your crew's daily labor-hour goals. If you are a top-tier shingler who is ready to step into leadership but still wants to work with your hands, this is your spot.
- Lead from the Front: Lace up your boots, put on your tool belt, and set the pace for shingling, tearing off, and flashing on residential roofs.
- Crew Accountability: Manage a crew of 3–5 installers/laborers on-site. Keep the energy high, the music safe, and the pace moving to hit budgeted labor hours.
- GAF Quality Control: Ensure all installations meet GAF Master Elite standards (nailing patterns, underlayment compliance, valley prep etc).
- Tech & Progress Tracking: Use CompanyCam on your phone to document job progress, capture before/after photos, and instantly log unforeseen issues (like rotten plywood) for the office.
- Safety First: Ensure your crew is always tied off, ladders are safe, and the ground is magnetically swept for nails at the end of every single day.
- 3–5 years of residential roofing experience as an installer (steep-slope shingling, low slope roofing, skylights installations, all flashing details, valleys).
- Experience in management, leading a crew, acting as a lead hand, or running a roof.
- Proficient with smartphones and open to using job site tech (CompanyCam).
- Strong communication skills—able to motivate a crew and clearly communicate with the office PM.
- Valid driver’s license (clean abstract) to drive the crew truck/trailer if needed.
- Reliable, punctual, and ready to take ownership of a job site.
