General Description

The millwright is responsible for performing mechanical maintenance on machinery, install, dismantle, move machinery and heavy equipment according to layout plans, blueprints or other drawings in a manufacturing environment.

Location: Ingersoll Ontario

Hours: 40 hours a week – 3 shift rotation

Ticket Required: 443 A

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $32.24/hour

Skill/Effort Requirements

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
  • Experience with CNC Machines, Lathes, Gearboxes, Heat treat equipment and Robotics
  • 433A licensed Industrial Millwright Mechanic (Red Seal); Industrial Maintenance Mechanic - mandatory
  • Good computer skills; Microsoft Outlook
  • Proficient at operating lift trucks, hoists and using power tools during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
  • Able to follow instructions and work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
  • Work at heights without fear
  • Make decisions based on measurable information

Responsibilities

  • Identify and diagnose mechanical problems and provide quick, innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns
  • Apply proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal work, machining, troubleshooting and analytical problem solving.
  • Dismantle, assemble / install, and move machinery efficiently with precision
  • Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve and troubleshoot various types of equipment in a manufacturing setting
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
  • Conduct PM programs according to standards
  • Perform preventative maintenance and trouble shooting
  • Recommend solutions to routine and unique equipment problems
  • Responsible for equipment changeover, set up, take down and relocation of
  • Response to equipment problems in a timely & customer oriented manner
  • Sound knowledge of all safety standards, policies and procedures
  • All other work as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor / or other authorized management persons
