Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Sales Associate to support business growth by developing new client relationships and maintaining existing accounts within the trucking and logistics sector. The ideal candidate understands transportation services, excels at customer communication, and can convert leads into long-term shipping partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for trucking, freight, and logistics services
- Build and maintain strong relationships with shippers, brokers, and commercial clients
- Present company services including FTL, LTL, expedited, hotshot, courier, and specialized freight
- Prepare and deliver quotes, proposals, and service agreements
- Negotiate pricing and service terms while maintaining company profitability
- Coordinate with dispatch, operations, and accounting teams to ensure smooth service delivery
- Track sales activity, leads, and customer interactions using CRM tools or internal systems
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor pricing, and customer needs
- Represent the company professionally at meetings, calls, and industry events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education in business or logistics is an asset)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts
- Proficiency in email, spreadsheets, and CRM systems
- Valid driver’s license (client visits may be required)
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
Experience Requirements
- 1–3 years of sales experience, preferably in:
- Trucking
- Transportation
- Logistics
- Freight brokerage
- Prior experience selling B2B services is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of:
- Freight pricing and lanes
- Basic trucking terminology (FTL, LTL, hotshot, dispatch, load boards)
- Existing industry contacts are a strong asset
