Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, especially seniors and individuals with disabilities, and will play a vital role in enhancing their quality of life through personalized support and care.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and comfort
- Provide medication administration as prescribed, ensuring safety and accuracy
- Support clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs, accommodating special dietary requirements
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and sanitation tasks
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Assist with transfers, positioning, and mobility exercises to prevent falls or injuries
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those with dementia is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is a plus
- Compassionate attitude with excellent caregiving skills and patience
- Ability to follow care plans accurately and communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Physical ability to assist with mobility tasks and perform light housekeeping duties
- Certification or training in caregiving or home health aide services is advantageous but not mandatory
- Reliable transportation or the ability to commute to various care locations is preferred
