We have a full-time position for a Sr. UX/UI Designer in Calgary, AB

Reporting to the Sr. Product Manager, the Sr. UX Designer is responsible for the evolution of our user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design for LodgeLink’s web and mobile platforms. You will drive a UX research and testing strategy that ensures that all elements of the online user experience are optimized for improved usability, usefulness, and exceptional visual design to enable customer success.

The ideal candidate will be an expert in User Experience (UX), with the ability to drive a user-centric design strategy and define solutions to continually improve and evolve the LodgeLink platform.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop long-term design and UX strategies to discover new product opportunities and drive innovation
  • Lead and build a design team as part of an agile dual-track discovery and delivery process
  • Create efficiencies through the implementation of design systems, standardized UI frameworks and iterative product development
  • Establish best practices around user testing and research to ensure that user needs are understood and communicated, and concepts can be rapidly validated and delivered
  • Facilitate our product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user testing experiences for our platform
  • Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and
interfaces

  • Make strategic design and UX decisions related to new and existing functions and features
  • Take a user-centered design (UCD) approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager, Marketing team, and internal and external designers to ensure the creation and delivery of tailored experiences for our users
  • Advise and guide on the implementation of UX research methodologies and testing activities in order to analyze and predict user behavior
  • Adhere to style standards on brand, typography and graphic design
  • Work with and contribute to a team of marketing, customer service, customer success, sales,
  • billing and software professionals
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness, performance) collaboratively with the Product team and other stakeholders and devise elegant solutions
Qualifications

  • 5+ years of UX design experience
  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Sketch, InVision, OmniGraffle, Adobe XD, Axure, Balsamiq, Framer, and the like is a must. Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus
  • Experience with information architecture, interaction design, visual and motion design,
  • content strategy, prototyping and testing
  • Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user
  • experiences that meet client needs and vision
  • Extensive experience in UX design best practices
  • Expertise in UCD
  • An understanding of agile software methodologies, particularly Scrum
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-based environment
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates your solutions focused visual design experience
