Why this role is important?
This position is responsible for managing the billing activities of SDMSHN to all Pharmaceutical Manufacturer clients in accordance to contractual obligations. Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, the Billing Coordinator will work closely with internal departments to ensure Manufacturer billings are inclusive of all related billable services and program related pass-through costs. The Billing Coordinator will also work closely with Program Management to validate and report program specific billing issues. In this role, the Billing Coordinator is required to have superior communication, attention to detail, and technical skills.
Prepare monthly billings and necessary accruals for manufacturer revenues in accordance with internal controls.
Consolidate and track to ensure all approved customer credit / re-bill adjustments are processed.
Develop and document efficient billing procedures for new and existing business needs as determined by Management.
Assist in internal and support external audits related to billings.
Guide and support the Program Management team in navigating client billing needs.
Analyze and understand all billing calculations to ensure billing is consistent with contractual terms.
Work closely with and provide guidance and expertise to all internal departments to ensure understanding of all billing requirements and data.
Liaise on a timely basis with customers, Program Managers, External Clients and Reporting, on pricing/product or invoicing discrepancies.
Reconcile assigned accounts and clear payments on a timely basis.
Maintain a strong understanding of workload and ensure timely collaboration on issues.
Assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of corporate policies, processes, and procedures for collections.
Assist with miscellaneous reporting on A/R functions to assist with analyzing efficiency and accuracy of processes.
Report all Adverse Events (AE) and Product Technical Complaints (PTC) immediately or as soon as possible upon becoming aware of the event as per current policies and procedures.
Guide and assist cross-functional projects in order to enhance business results.
Participate in projects or manage other tasks as assigned by the Accounts Receivable Supervisor.
Skills and Qualifications
University Degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce
A minimum of 3 years relevant business finance experience in a corporate accounting environment
Must be computer literate with the ability to learn new programs quickly and use them efficiently
Prior experience with ERP systems is mandatory SAP is preferred
Prior experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is preferred
Flexible and adaptable to changes in responsibility reflective of the business requirements
Proven ability to effectively manage time, due in part to short turnaround times for billing
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities in an extremely complex environment
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to deal positively with all levels within and outside the organization
Customer focused, results oriented and good organizational skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work within an environment that is fast paced with tight deadlines
