Duties
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently check them in and out using dental practice management software such as Dentrix and Epic.
- Schedule appointments, confirm upcoming visits, and manage appointment changes to optimize daily workflow.
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly, directing calls to the appropriate team members while providing excellent customer service.
- Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and update electronic medical records accurately.
- Prepare treatment rooms and assist with administrative tasks including billing, coding, and processing payments.
- Maintain organized office operations by managing correspondence, filing documents, and handling incoming mail.
- Communicate clearly with patients regarding appointment details, insurance policies, and office procedures to foster trust and transparency.
Experience
- Previous experience working as a Dental Receptionist or in a medical or dental office setting is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic is essential for efficient workflow.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology enhances communication with patients and clinical staff.
- Proven ability to handle multi-line phone systems confidently while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Office experience involving electronic medical records (EMRs) or electronic health records (EHRs) is advantageous.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in managing schedules, records, and administrative tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to provide exceptional front desk support in a fast-paced environment.
