Serving Zurich and area community, West Huron Care Centre is an established hub of services, offering Seniors Independent Living, Community Outreach and Training Programs. In addition, we are home to Blue Water Rest Home, a 65 bed Long-Term Care Home, which is a charitable, non-profit organization.
There is a vacancy for a full time Cook to start as soon as possible. Shifts are scheduled throughout the week and on weekends/holidays. The shifts are 11am-7pm with the flexibility to work 6am-2pm as well.
The Cook position provides meal service to Meals on Wheels Clients, Tenants and Long-Term Care residents while following safe food handling practices and appropriate portion control in accordance with the menu and therapeutic interventions. Excellent attendance, attention to detail, and able to work safely following established safety practices and procedures are also qualifications of the job. Applicant will hold a current Safe Food Handler’s Certificate, Chef Training or Culinary Management or previously employed as a Cook in a LTC facility. Previous food service experience is an asset.
Pay: From $23.57 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
