CPA Ontario is currently in search of a highly skilled Financial Analyst, FP&A to prepare and analyze business and management reports in support of CPA Ontario’s planning and decision-making processes.
Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership across the organization to understand and translate business objectives to ensure KPIs and budgets are on track
Perform financial monthly/quarterly reporting, variance analysis, and operational metrics tracking; communicate and analyze results with key stakeholders
Liaise with various Business Unit leads to formulate, analyze, and support the budgeting and forecasting process, and prepare PowerPoint decks/presentations that summarize the budget and forecast for the Senior Leadership Team
Support the budgeting and forecasting process by designing and formatting relevant templates and consolidate budget data
Analyze financial data and create financial models for decision support
Incorporate critical thinking skills in financial analysis, strategic analysis, business modeling to provide robust analysis to support internal stakeholders' decision making
Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements and optimization
Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts, and prepare for regular leadership review
Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards
Identify and prepare business reporting requirements, validating for accuracy and integrity of the data being collected and reported
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting is required
Must be enrolled in or in the process of completing the CPA certification program
2 to 5 years of previous work experience as a Financial Analyst or equivalent is required
Demonstrated business experience in analysis and/or reporting of financial data and with budgeting and forecasting is required
Proven ability to translate rough financial concepts into final reports or summaries for presentation to management is required
Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required
Previous experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and with employees at all levels is required
Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and relationship building skills required
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment meeting tight deadlines is required
Proven attention to accuracy and detail is required
Experience in sensitivity analysis and building user-friendly financial models is an asset
Flexibility in working extra hours will be required during peak periods
