KG Hair Salon is looking for an experienced Hair Stylist to join our team in Nanaimo. We are seeking someone who is passionate about their craft, confident in delivering beautiful results, and committed to creating an outstanding experience for every client who sits in their chair.

About the role
As part of our team, you will provide a range of hair services including cutting, colouring, and styling, always tailored to the individual needs and goals of each client. You will be expected to deliver a high standard of service, build trust through thoughtful consultations, and help clients maintain the health and beauty of their hair between visits.
You will also contribute to the overall client journey by helping maintain a salon environment that feels polished, professional, and welcoming. From time to time, this may include supporting front-of-house tasks such as appointment coordination, client records, and payment processing.

Key responsibilities
- Deliver professional cutting, colouring, and styling services with care and attention to detail
- Consult with clients to understand their goals and provide thoughtful recommendations
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation, and sanitation throughout the salon
- Recommend appropriate retail products and services to support the client’s results at home
- Assist with day-to-day salon operations, including some front desk support when needed
- Take part in ongoing education and training through the salon’s learning culture
- Contribute positively to a team environment focused on service, professionalism, and growth
What we are looking for
- At least 2 years of experience as a hairstylist
- Confidence in a range of core hair services, including cutting, colouring, and styling
- Strong communication skills and a genuine ability to connect with clients
- A professional, polished, and client-focused approach
- An understanding of salon hygiene and sanitation standards
- Retail confidence and the ability to recommend products in a natural, helpful way
- A growth mindset and the ambition to keep elevating your skill, knowledge, and career
