Temporary Part-Time Clerk – Operations
Anticipated for a period of up to 1 month

Reporting to, and under the direction of the Supervisor of Administrative & Technical Services, the Part-Time Clerk (Operations) is responsible for providing administrative and communications support to the Operational Services Staff, including, but not limited to:
providing excellent customer service;
responding to telephone and counter inquiries/concerns from the general public and other members of staff in a courteous manner;
two-way radio dispatch;
accurate data entry;
booking of special collections;
preparation of correspondence;
compiling of statistical information;
accurate record keeping;
other administrative/clerical duties as assigned.
The successful applicant must possess:
a post-secondary school graduation diploma in Office Administration, or related discipline;
a minimum of eighteen (18) months of related administrative experience;
a thorough understanding of municipal government functions and responsibilities;
excellent organizational and time management skills to manage and effectively prioritize work, assignments, etc.;
strong technical, numerical and administrative skills;
demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), at an intermediate level;
excellent keyboarding skills to ensure work is completed accurately and efficiently;
demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task while working in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision;
excellent communication skills in order to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and in appropriately responding to the general public;
demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form;
a valid unrestricted Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License (or equivalent) with access to a vehicle.
Hours: Flex hours, Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., up to a maximum of twenty four (24) hours per week.
