Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking processes
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient teamwork and adherence to recipes and standards
- Oversee food handling procedures, maintaining strict compliance with food safety regulations
- Prepare high-quality dishes consistently while maintaining presentation standards
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and knowledge
- Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen at all times
- Serve as a leader during service hours, supporting staff to deliver excellent customer experiences
- Collaborate with restaurant management on menu development and operational improvements
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food industry best practices
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage team members effectively
- Experience with restaurant management tasks such as inventory control and staff training
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and proper handling procedures
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly preferred
- Familiarity with serving standards within a restaurant setting is advantageous
