LN Land Development Technologies is looking for an experienced Senior Utility Locator to join our Calgary team .
This is a great opportunity for an experienced locator who is confident working independently, understands the importance of accurate utility identification, and takes pride in completing safe, high-quality work.
You'll support a variety of projects throughout Calgary and surrounding areas, locating underground infrastructure and working closely with clients, contractors, field crews, and our Utility Locate team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Perform accurate underground utility locates for a variety of projects
Identify and mark underground utilities including gas, power, telecommunications, fibre, water, and other infrastructure
Use electromagnetic locating equipment and other utility locating technology
Interpret utility drawings, maps, records, and project information
Complete public and private utility locates accurately and efficiently
Conduct field assessments and identify potential utility conflicts or hazards
Maintain accurate field documentation, records, and locate information
Communicate clearly with clients, contractors, supervisors, and field personnel
Complete work independently while managing assigned locate requests and priorities
Assist with complex or challenging locates when required
Provide guidance and support to less experienced Utility Locators
Maintain locating equipment and ensure it is used safely and effectively
Follow all company, client, and site-specific safety requirements
Maintain LN's standards for safety, accuracy, quality, and customer service
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Minimum 3 years of utility locating experience preferred
Strong knowledge of underground utility locating practices and procedures
Experience locating multiple utility types, including gas, power, telecommunications, and fibre
Strong understanding of electromagnetic locating methods and equipment
Ability to confidently perform direct connection, clamp, and induction locating methods
Ability to read and interpret utility drawings, maps, and records
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple locate requests
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Strong communication and customer service skills
Dependable, organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced field environment
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract
Ability to work overtime and extended hours based on project requirements
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada on a permanent basis
ASSETS
Experience completing both public and private utility locates
Previous experience in construction, civil, oil and gas, or industrial environments
Experience mentoring or training junior Utility Locators
Ground Disturbance certification
Additional utility locating or industry-specific training and certifications

This is a field-based position that requires travel throughout Calgary and surrounding areas. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, around active construction sites, and independently in the field.
