Andrews Senior Care provides best in class assisted living and nursing care at homes across Prince Edward Island, the safest Province during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the early days of the pandemic, when many homes across Canada struggled with no PPE, we had stockpiles ready for our residents and staff.
About this position

How You’ll Spend Your Time
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, residents and families to create dietary plans
Manage nutritional budget, working with vendors for optimal pricing, monitoring inventory, ordering ingredients and supplies from a cost containment perspective
Lead, mentor and develop dietary team in the preparation of meals, supervising cooking and delivery, overseeing the cleaning of food stations, equipment and utensils
Cultivate your team, hire, train and engage dietary team members to deliver exceptional nutritional services
Ensure quality and safety of food in compliance with company policies, occupation safety and food safety regulations and applicable legislation
Contributes to promoting a positive, friendly, safe, and healthy environment for all team members and residents
What You’ll Bring to the Team
3 Years of relevant Dietary experience, 1 Year in a Leadership role. Red Seal Chef certification preferable
An excellent work ethic and proven ability to multitask
Natural ability to lead others, communicating effectively in a pleasant manner at all times
Self-motivated, career-focused professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple demands and establishing work priorities
Available to work flexible hours
Works well as part of a team and independently
Certification in food service/handling
Working knowledge of sanitation and food safety guidelines
Physical requirements include; standing, walking for extended periods of time, repetitive movements, the ability to lift, pull or carry up to 20 pounds
