Investment Advisor Associate
Seeking an Investment Advisor (IA) Associate in our North Vancouver office.
We are a small boutique Financial Services firm on the North Shore looking to add a select member to build out our practice and implement a succession of senior advisor's practice.
Ideally this is for someone who is managing a small book of business that would like to increase their grid, work on a team, supplement their commissions with some admin pay and be part of succession program in a well established firm.
The Investment Advisor’s Associate’s primary focus is to assist in the day to day trading and the administration of an advisor’s business in addition to building and managing your own book of business.
You will have excellent organisational skills and are self-motivated with a keen “can-do” work ethic. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further their career in the investment and finance industry.
Key Task and Responsibilities:
- Assist the IA in preparing for client appointments
- Respond to client inquiries on administrative questions
- Provide market information or statements to clients
- Assist in Insurance inquiries, quotes and applications as well as in force policy service.
- Follow up with prospective clients and clients on active inquiries
- Communicate effectively with the advisor you work with directly
- Manage incoming and outbound client phone calls
- Ensure client accounts are processed accurately including account opening/closing and transfers
- Communicate with head office associates on compliance and operational matters
- Process trades and other transactions
- Maintain a current understanding of the regulatory landscape
- Make contacts with prospective clients
- Grow your own book of business through referral and lead generation
Your Skills:
- Career oriented, works well individually and as part of a team
- Skilled in Microsoft Office
- Quick learner adept to grasping new technologies and processes
- Organised, focused and capable of working under tight deadlines
- Discreet and experienced in handling confidential client information
- Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course, IFIC or Insurance License .
- Driven to deliver client service excellence
- Keen problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly on your feet
Your Qualifications:
- CSC, MFDA or Insurance License.
- Experience in the financial services industry min – 1 year
