Job Overview
Join our team to polish the look of Grimoire of Monsters, our co-op monster-survival roguelike built in Unity. As a VFX Artist, you'll create the hit effects, spells, explosions, and magic that fill the screen during combat as we polish toward our Steam demo.
Key responsibilities
- Create real-time VFX: impacts, projectiles, spell effects, deaths, and environmental effects
- Build effects in Unity using particle systems, shaders, and sprite-based VFX
- Polish existing effects and keep them readable in busy, bullet-heaven combat
- Balance visual impact with performance across many on-screen effects
- Work with art and design to match the game's dark, magical tone
Who we are looking for
- A current student looking for a co-op or internship term
- A VFX portfolio or reel (game effects, particles, or motion work)
- An understanding of timing, colour, and readability in effects
- Comfortable working in a remote, team-oriented environment
Bonus skills
- Experience with Unity particle systems (VFX Graph or Shuriken) or shaders
- 2D and sprite-sheet VFX experience
- A strong sense for game feel and juice
- Interest in roguelikes and bullet-heaven games
