Our work includes mechanical room maintenance contracts as well as installation and repair of commercial and multi-family residential buildings. We specialize in plumbing, heating, gas, and preventative maintenance for mechanical systems.
Position
We are looking for highly motivated mechanical foreman to join our boiler installation project team. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering industry-leading customer service, and providing our clients peace of mind through quality workmanship. As part of the project team, you will perform a variety of duties to install, troubleshoot and maintain commercial/institutional mechanical rooms. The ideal candidate will possess a technical background, a thorough knowledge of plumbing/hydronic systems, ability to lead & mentor, exceptional problem-solving skills and a passion for working within a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Experience in Mechanical Room Upgrades, boiler replacements, and black iron piping up to 4” (including Welding and Victaulic);
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and anchored;
- Ensure all work performed is in line with the requirements of the appropriate legislative codes;
- Read and follow blueprints, engineering specification, technological processes, and SOPs in performing all tasks assigned;
- Maintain and monitor the use of Company’s Assets (fleet, tools, equipment, etc.) to ensure that they are used with the utmost care;
- Play a significant role by demonstrating long-term support and respect for all current, new, and proposed processes, procedures, policies, and rules;
- Ensure all work being performed is of the best trade standards, industry leading quality, and service excellence;
- Deliver on deadlines and targets, and should deadlines or targets not be achievable in the given time frame, immediately advise and communicate status with all stakeholders;
- If required, delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to all appropriate apprentice personnel;
- Perform any other duties as required by the manager.
Requirements
- Journeyman/woman Plumbing Ticket;
- Back Flow, Gas A and/or B tickets for fully qualified plumbing technicians;
- Proven experience with commercial plumbing work;
- Previous experience trouble shooting boilers, pumps and hydronic systems;
- Sound knowledge of mechanical equipment in a commercial setting;
- Knowledge of electrical/controls and typical plumbing service;
- A thorough understanding of provincial plumbing code and standards;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with clients and office staff;
- Valid full class driver’s license with a clean driving record;
- Must be comfortable working with mobile devices (we use the FieldEdge mobile app);
- Must be able to pass a criminal record check.
