Health Care Support Workers – Personal Care Home
(The Pas, Flin Flon and Thompson)

North? Do you enjoy working with the elderly population? NRHA is looking for you!
12 Day Training Program: NRHA has partnered with Northern Manitoba Sector Council and University
College of the North to offer this program starting January 4, 2021. This training will be provided face-
to-face with hands on care learning right in a personal care home at one of our sites, observing all
COVID-19 precautions. This course is being offered tuition-free with a commitment to provide service in
a NRHA personal care home. Due to the nature of the compressed training schedule, it is required that
you attend all days of training. In the event you are unable to so, you will be withdrawn from the
program and your conditional offer with the NRHA will be rescinded.
3 Month Work Period: Attendance at the 12 Day Training Program is conditional upon providing at
least 3 months availability for work with a minimum of 3 shifts being worked each week.
Extended Orientation Program: NRHA will be engaging in a work-integrated learning Pilot Project in
The Pas which will commence March 2021. Those that have completed the 12 Day Training Program will
be given first opportunity to attend the Extended Orientation Program.
Qualifications:

Grade 10 or equivalent
•
Good written and verbal communication skills
•
Interest in working with the elderly population
