E-Commerce Website Developer, SEO & Content Specialist
Looking for experienced website developer who can independently build, improve and manage our e-commerce website.
This is not only a website-design position. The successful applicant must understand e-commerce development, CSS customization, SEO, website performance and content creation.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a professional, mobile-friendly e-commerce website
- Create product pages organized by vehicle year, make, model and bed size
- Configure online payments, taxes, shipping rates and Canada-wide delivery
- Customize website layouts using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Connect inventory, CRM, email marketing and other business systems
- Improve website speed, security, mobile usability and conversion rates
- Troubleshoot website, checkout and integration problems
- Configure Google Analytics, Search Console and Merchant Center
- Perform technical, on-page and local SEO
- Add product schema, structured data, optimized URLs and metadata
- Research and write original product descriptions
- Create category pages, landing pages, FAQs and SEO articles
- Produce location-specific content for Ironhaul branches and service areas
- Upload, resize and optimize product images
- Write SEO titles, headings, meta descriptions and image alt text
- Maintain consistent Ironhaul branding across the website
- Fact-check and edit all AI-assisted content before publication
- Prepare a monthly website-development and SEO plan
- Monitor website rankings, traffic, sales and conversion performance
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience developing and managing e-commerce websites
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and responsive design
- Experience with Shopify, WooCommerce or another established e-commerce platform
- Working knowledge of JavaScript, APIs and third-party integrations
- Practical SEO experience with measurable results
- Strong written English and content-writing ability
- Understanding of payment gateways, shipping systems and product feeds
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Portfolio containing active e-commerce websites
Experience with automotive products, vehicle-fitment databases, Google Shopping, Meta Pixel and Canadian e-commerce shipping is an advantage.
