1.0 FTE Human Resources Officer - 1-year term, with possibility of extension

Description and Responsibilities:
As part of the human resources team, the Human Resources Officer is responsible to assist the Director of Human Resources to develop, implement, communicate and manage all human resources activities. This position works closely with the Director of Schools and primarily provides direct HR services to schools within the Woodstock Education Centre. The Payroll Supervisor for the Centre reports to this position.

Areas of Responsibility:
Interpret and administer the collective agreements for all employee groups
Interpret and administer policies and guidelines, established laws and regulations, and district goals and objectives as they apply to human resources.
Assist the Director in the investigation and or review of complaints and concerns to facilitate equitable resolutions and avoid grievances.
Assist the Director with coordinating the investigation of complaints and concerns which may include Policy 311, Policy 701, Respectful Workplace, Human Rights, Professional Conduct, Conflict of Interest, etc.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
University degree in business administration, public administration or in a related field, with a major in human resources.
A minimum of three years' experience in human resources
Experience in a supervisory capacity over a department or unit in a complex setting is required.
Written and spoken competency in English is required.
Experience working in a complex payroll setting would be considered an asset.
A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Essential attributes include:
Demonstrated computer literacy with strong stills in all MS Office products.
The incumbent must have excellent interpretation, analytical, and be able to work independently, accurately, and in a confidential manner.
Exceptional written, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Salary:
This position is a Management & Non-Union position and falls under Pay Band 3 range $44,954 to $62,842 per annum.
