The School of Health and Public Safety at SAIT prepares students for the work demands of the healthcare sectors across Alberta, Canada and abroad. We offer specialized training in diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, professional assistant programs, information management, and training for wellness professionals. The School of Health and Public Safety at SAIT Polytechnic requires an energetic and dynamic Physical Therapist to provide instruction in theory and laboratory settings in the Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant program. This is your opportunity to impart your expertise as a Physical Therapist to our highly motivated students.

Job Description

Provide a high quality of education for students
Prepare and deliver lectures and lab demonstrations to students enrolled in the program and potentially to other programs in the department
Ensure class/labs equipment are set up for each class/lab
Evaluate student progress through assignments, exams and lab competencies
Update course outlines and modules for theory and laboratory classes
Facilitate student achievement through mentorship
Contribute in a positive way to maintain a “team environment”
Promote professionalism and coach students
Participate in program and School meetings
Promote and support SAIT Polytechnic’s mission statements, strategic and academic plans
Remain current in field
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Registered Physical Therapist with at least five (5) years’ of clinical experience working in the field of Physical Therapy
Must be registered with the Physiotherapy Alberta College and Association or be eligible for registration
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to thrive in a team environment
Previous experience working with Therapy Assistants
Basic computer skills and the ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite along with communication software are strongly recommended
Preference will be given to candidates with previous teaching experience
Must have a somewhat flexible schedule to accommodate with the student’s timetable
