LONG TERM CARE NURSE (RN/RPN)
We are currently seeking Casual Long-Term Care Nurse, Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team at Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops, B.C.
What will you work on?
The RN or RPN practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the RN or RPN ensures the delivery of resident–centered care by assisting individual residents and their families respond to changing health care needs. The RN or RPN demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.
Shift types for this position are days, evenings and nights. Shift times rotate from 07:00 to 15:00, 15:00 to 23:00, 23:00 to 07:00 hours.
**Casual employment includes:
short-notice, on-call availability; workload coverage during a temporary absences; and/or providing relief coverage in a specific position. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions.
About this location/unit
Ponderosa Lodge has 136 short term beds (68 First Appropriate Bed & 68 Pathway to Home which include convalescent and respite care). It is a multi-level brick building built in the heart of downtown Kamloops, one block from Royal Inland Hospital. Our resident-centered philosophy is designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level and provide the best quality of life possible.

Education, Training and Experience:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
