An opportunity is open for a motivated Nurse Practitioner to join well-established practice Markham Integrative Medicine on an independent contractor basis. Number of days per week is flexible.
MIM is run by Dr. John Gannage, a well-respected integrative Medical Doctor. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established functional medicine practice where you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced physician, expand your clinical skills, and help deliver personalized, root-cause focused care. We are looking for the right fit, and someone who can complement and add value to the practice.
This role will involve supporting Dr. Gannage clinically as well as seeing patients independently.
The ideal candidate is:
- A licensed Nurse Practitioner eligible to practice in Ontario
- Experienced with or has a strong interest in integrative/functional medicine
- Comfortable working with both adults and children, including those with special needs
- A quick learner who is committed to continuous learning
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with Dr. Gannage
- Organized and meticulous about clinical documentation
- An excellent communicator
- Team-oriented, and understands the needs of both the patients and the doctor/clinic
As part of our clinical team, you'll work closely with the physician while managing your own patient care within your scope of practice. You'll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients, contribute to complex case management, and play an important role in delivering comprehensive, personalized care.
Responsibilities may include:
- Conducting follow-up appointments and clinically-based video/phone calls with patients
- Monitoring portal messages for patient management matters
- Reviewing laboratory results, updating the record and providing clinical recommendations
- Ordering investigations and prescribing medications within your scope of practice
- Collaborating with Dr. Gannage on complex cases and treatment plans
- Preparing clinical summaries and supporting ongoing patient management
- Working alongside our team to provide an exceptional patient experience
- Assisting with custom supplement formula development as needed
- Contributing ideas and insights for growing and improving the practice, including the IV suite
- Assisting Dr. Gannage with record keeping; summarizing patient information into chart notes; translating intake forms into the clinical record

The compensation model is flexible and will be structured in a hybrid style including split-based compensation per visit and additional compensation for other administrative and clinical support.
