Controller – Construction Industry
Surrey, BC | Full-Time | On-Site
Robert Half Finance are seeking an experienced Controller from the construction industry to lead the finance function for a growing organization based in Surrey. Flexibility may be available for family obligations; otherwise, regular on-site presence is required. This position is currently vacant and we are looking for an ideal candidate to start asap.
To be considered, candidates should bring:
Extensive accounting and finance leadership experience within a construction environment (minimum required 3+ years post CPA or management level experience in construction sector)
Experience serving as the senior financial leader for an organization, with full ownership of the accounting function
Proven experience managing and developing a team of 4–5+ accounting staff, including performance management
Strong background in financial planning and analysis (FP& A), forecasting, and supporting strategic business decisions
Experience working directly with ownership or executive leadership as a trusted financial partner
Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end processes while overseeing day-to-day accounting operations
Multi-entity accounting experience
Strong project accounting and WIP reporting experience
CPA designation preferred; however, significant heavy construction industry experience will be prioritized
Ability to step into a vacant role and succeed in an environment that requires initiative, independence, and self-direction
