About This Job:
Our client, a well-established manufacturing company specializing in Engineering, Equipment Supply, Installation, and Service to the Steel Industry, is seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. With a diverse and experienced team of design engineers, our client delivers tailored solutions to address specific challenges within the industry. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed design calculations and mechanical equipment analysis for applications in the Steel Industry.
- Develop technical specifications and project documentation.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical designs.
- Provide leadership and direction to a small team of mechanical designers and draftspersons as needed.
- Generate proposals, feasibility studies, and comprehensive reports.
- Translate initial concepts into finalized designs, including preparation of detail drawings and assemblies.
- Investigate and address field issues, preparing comprehensive reports as necessary.
- Offer on-site technical support during machinery installations and provide assistance to the sales team during customer visits.
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance to colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc. or B.Eng.). P.Eng. registration in Ontario is preferred but not mandatory.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on Steel Mill, Steel Coil Processing equipment, and/or heavy industrial machinery design (e.g., mining).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD design software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office, FEA Analysis, Math CAD, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Valid passport and willingness to travel occasionally within Canada and to the U.S.A.

Pay: $110,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
