Waypoints is seeking a full-time Executive Director. The ideal candidate will take on a senior leadership role guiding and inspiring the team. The Executive Director is responsible for policy management, human resources management, financial management and budget preparation. Building and maintaining effective relations with the Department of Children, Seniors and Social Development, Government Agencies and other community partners and funders are essential. This position requires the Executive Director to make senior management decisions daily and maintain regular contact with the Board of Directors. The Executive Director must ensure that programs and services are administered following best practices, guidelines and procedures outlined in a current service contract. The Executive Director provides direct supervision and recruitment of senior management positions. This position also requires the recruitment of outside consultants as needed. The Executive Director provides effective leadership to more than 115 employees within a unionized environment that promotes a high standard of service delivery and maintains effective labour relations.
The Executive Director manages, monitors and evaluates all outcome measurement data to ensure that performance indicators and performance targets are set and achieved for service delivery. The Executive Director must lead in developing a strategic plan and outline deliverable goals and objectives. The Executive Director must foster a positive, supportive, creative and innovative environment that supports the adaptability of programs and services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science with additional course work and training in the field of child and youth care, or a combination of education and experience will be considered. A Master’s Degree is considered an asset. The successful candidate must have a minimum of five years of management experience, demonstrate an understanding of the profession of child and youth care, knowledge of child/adolescent development, trauma and family dynamics, demonstrate supervisory, leadership and analytical skills, and have experience with budgets and financial statements. Use of a private vehicle, computer skills, a clear criminal records certificate, CSSD check and valid Standard First Aid/CPR are requirements for this position.
