As a HVAC technician, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating ventilation, air conditioners, and refrigeration systems across our schools. You will work independently and as part of a collaborative team to keep our buildings operating efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, maintain and service all heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions, install, replace or repair damaged equipment.
- Install new heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems and repair and replace damaged or worn heating, ventilation and air-conditioning parts and equipment.
- Repair or replace low and high pressure liquid lines.
- Inspect and observe pressure of liquids and vapor with instrumentation to ensure efficient operation of units and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain the chilled and hot water supply systems, adjust and maintain internal electrical and electronic control systems and clean coils, blowers and check motor and belt tensions. - Assemble and install metal ductwork.
- Available for overtime, or on an on-call basis when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Inter-Provincial Journeyman Air Conditioning and Refrigeration certification with a "B" Gas License.
- Knowledge of HVACR control systems, facility management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and programming techniques.
- Minimum of five years experience supporting HVACR systems within a business or educational setting.
- Experience with BACnet, DDC automation control experience.
- Safety knowledge and awareness for working with electrical gas systems.
- Technology experience required for work orders and the ability to program HVACR related software.
- A valid class 5 driver's license is required.
- Inter-Provincial Journeyman Electrician certification is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with other trades and Division Employees.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and under his/her own initiative.
