Job Summary:

Under general direction of the Lead Receptionist and Vice President, performs administrative assistant/reception duties as outlined below. The administrative assistant/reception is responsible for all formal interaction with patients and as a front-line position, working knowledge of customer service is required. The primary role is to create an excellent patient experience.

Major Duties:

  • Receptionist receives patients, answers phone, books appointments in RIS, files charts and sends out films, answers emails
  • Ensures patients receive proper preparation instructions for scheduled exams
  • Requests, receives and returns films from other facilities for scheduled patients
  • Develops and maintains filing system
  • Prepare requisitions for all technologists.
  • Prepare CDs for patients and clinics as required.
  • Orders office supplies as needed.
  • Collects and maintains all payment for self-paying exams.
  • Prepare and process laundry
  • OBSP: Chart preparation, patient scheduling, data entry
  • Ensure a courteous and professional demeanor with patients and colleagues
  • Cleaning and sweeping of clinic
  • Work out of Port Arthur Clinic/Thunder Bay Medical Center as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

High School Diploma – College Preferred

Minimum 1-2 years experience in customer service

Administrative assistant/reception experience is an asset

Computer Proficiency
