We are actively seeking a talented Shipper/ Receiver and Material Handler to join our team.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Shipper & Receiver/Material Handler
Reports to: Material Manager
Purpose:
The Shipper receiver/Material Handler is responsible for the coordination of inbound and outbound materials. Efficient and well organized preparation and handling of all incoming and outgoing parts, supplies, materials, equipment and product.
The person will arrange with expediting and logistics as required.
This position is also required to understand product categories; Custom, OEM and Standard. This position includes responsibility for shipping and receiving department operation and interacts with the Materials Manager, to update, seek guidance and obtain necessary approvals. Material Handler will work directly with the Materials Manager, Production Supervisor and Master Scheduler to expedite, gather and stage parts required to complete shop orders to meet the scheduled due dates.
In addition to the responsibilities listed below, employee is also expected to complete other duties as required. All employees are expected to have familiarized themselves with the Health & Safety and Human Resources manuals, work in conjunction with all policies and procedures at Daltec, complete work as assigned to the best of your abilities, ncluding their responsibilities as outlined below.
Key Position Responsibilities and Duties - will include, but not be limited to:
Operations
- Safely operates all related equipment and vehicles to ensure efficient and on-time loading and unloading of delivery or pick-up trucks.
- Inspect completed product for quality and accuracy upon arrival and prior to shipping.
- Photograph completed product prior to shipping
- Pick parts from existing stock inventory and provide material handling to departments.
- Identify parts for low inventory
- Back up when required for data entry of inventory movement
- Place received parts in stock inventory or staging area for distribution to production.
- Place all inventory in designated area’s and update GSS for locations and check quantities as required
Health and Safety
- Keep work area clean and tidy.
- Follow all job specific processes and safety policies at all times.
- Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment for all employees.
- Report any accidents, injuries or unsafe working conditions to Management immediately.
- Maintenance and safety checks for trucks and forklifts
Qualifications:
Education
- Successful completion of secondary school graduation diploma or equivalent.
- Must have valid Driver’s license and meet DCBM’s insurable standards and vehicle policy
- Successful completion of forklift training which meets current legislative requirements.
- Successful completion of overhead crane training which meets current legislative requirements.
Experience
- 2 - 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous material handling /forklift experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Above average computer and data entry skills
- Pleasant and professional telephone manner.
- Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in the accumulation and transfer of information.

Working Conditions:
- Works in a production environment where health and safety hazards and risk of injury are always present (temperature, noise, chemicals, machinery, moving vehicles).

- Spends a frequent amount of time standing and walking daily.

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
