As the leader of the Landscape Maintenance team, you will play an integral part in the success of our Landscape Maintenance division. You will be responsible for organizing the Maintenance team and other resources to achieve the timely, efficient completion of our Landscape Maintenance Sites. You will be responsible for overseeing the completion of lawn and garden maintenance, tree, shrub & perennial pruning, turf fertilization, aerating and organic pest management methods for our clients. Together, with a team of hard-working, passionate individuals you will mentor, train and develop your team. You also will have the opportunity to obtain your Red Seal and get certified in Landscape Horticulture.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage safety, quality, and productivity of work at sites and/ or shop/yard
- Oversee Lawn and Garden Maintenance
- Oversee Seasonal Planting and Landscape Renovations
- Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers pruning saws, aerators and power rakes
- Envisions maintenance services completion and sets out relevant, time bound goals for crews to achieve
- Mentors and guides direct reports
- Monitors production of the crews
- Engages in conflict resolution and works with managers to resolve issues
- Oversee and prepare daily tasks for maintenance crews
- Controls production and production standards on the job site
- Reviews property maintenance success and provides feedback for improvement in conjunction with management
- Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscape environments, shop and equipment
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in landscape horticulture and maintenance
- Red Seal Horticulture Certificate an asset or similar training
- Plant knowledge and identification, and experience in plant care
- Competent in the use of power tools (pruners, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers etc.)
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various Maintenance practices
- Physically fit with strong stamina
- Ability to follow safe and working procedures
- Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
- Speak, read, and write English
- Valid drivers license an asset
Salary information: $32-39 per hour (Salary is dependent on experience)
