IEH Services Canada, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a full time Microbiology Lab Assistant at its facility in Richmond, BC. The position will require night and weekend work. Employees will be eligible for benefits after 3 months of continuous full time employment. The current evening shift is 14:30-23:00.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Receive customer samples, verify information, and enter data into LIMS.
- Sample preparation and documentation.
- Follow standard operating procedures.
- Media and reagent preparation.
- Clean glassware and equipment.
- Waste disposal and general laboratory cleaning duties.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

- Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong analytical, organizational and multitasking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and perform tasks according to laboratory priorities.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, manage time, and work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to accomplish team goals.

Educational Requirements
BSc., Technical diploma and/or relevant lab experience preferred.
