II. Description of the department
The position of Project Manager is part of Menard Canada's Operations Department. Employees under this department coordinate the management and implementation of projects in the field, from the feasibility study to the final delivery. He or she is responsible for planning, organising and monitoring construction sites, ensuring compliance with quality, safety and efficiency standards. Operations teams work closely with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure project success and partner satisfaction.
III. Job description
The Project Coordinator supports the implementation of projects by coordinating activities, monitoring work and communicating with stakeholders. He/she contributes to the respect of deadlines, costs and quality requirements, under the supervision of the Project Implementation Manager and the Director of Operations.
Project coordination and management
- Participate in the different phases of projects (preparation, execution, quality control and closure), in support of the project manager
- Contribute to the preparation of the project (monitoring of budget, schedule, estimate, preparation of safety and quality documents, communication with equipment and material suppliers)
- Ensure the daily monitoring of activities and the progress of the work
- Update the work schedule based on progress
- Assist in the budget monitoring of the project
- Participate, in collaboration with the foreman and the project manager, in optimizing the order in which the work is carried out
Technical and quality monitoring
- Understand all project requirements (budget, resources, schedule, coordination, work procedures, and technical performance)
- Perform QA/QC monitoring to ensure compliance with technical specifications and report any non-compliance
- Participate in the conduct and monitoring of internal and external quality control tests
Communication and collaboration
- Ensure continuous and clear communication and promote effective collaboration between the various stakeholders (design manager, foreman, superintendent, operations manager, project manager)
- Write daily and weekly progress reports for the client
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Comply with provincial and federal laws as well as internal and external procedures
- Ensure and promote good health and safety practices on the site
Continuous improvement
- Contribute to the writing of feedback (REX)
- Contribute to the drafting of project sheets
- Report deviations and propose simple improvements
Autonomy and development
- Perform his/her tasks rigorously while gradually developing autonomy in the coordination of project activities, under the supervision of the project manager
IV. Knowledge, Skills, Experience
A. Knowledge
- Geotechnical knowledge, junior engineer level
- Soil and/or foundation improvement techniques
- Asset: Knowledge in the seismic field (liquefaction, soil-structure analysis)
- Asset: Knowledge of the environment (regulations, in-situ and ex-situ treatment)
B. Technical skills
- Geotechnical engineering and analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Cost estimation and pricing
- Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) standards and practices

D. Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, consulting or construction
