We are looking for a House Person at the Residence Inn by Marriott Vancouver, BC.
Summary
Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager. The Houseperson is responsible for maximizing guest satisfaction and loyalty, through the cleanliness and overall appearance of the hotel and corridors.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning areas of the hotel per hotel/brand standards
- Places clean linen on the floors
- Assists guests with baggage
- Strips beds, empties garbage and loads dishwashers
- Loads dirty linen into laundry chute
- Delivers phone messages, mail or packages, telegrams, flowers, etc., to guest rooms, completing special guest requests as needed
- Collects and returns outgoing customer laundry and dry cleaning
- Cleans windows
- Cleans carpets, and upholstery
- Special deep cleaning projects as assigned by Housekeeping Manager
- Cleans public and exterior areas
- May conducts random and/or frequent security checks of hotel parkade, perimeter and all common areas
- Performs banquet set ups for the following days functions if needed
- Understand and be able to carry out hotel emergency procedures including emergency evacuation, guest or employee injuries and reporting safety and/or security issues
- Welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to company/brand standards
- Listening and responding to guests’ requests or concerns and taking action
- Demonstrates teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed
- Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
- Consistently practices guest and associate privacy and security
- Contributes to a healthy and safe work environment by reporting all safety hazards, following WHMIS and Fire safety training, and working in a safe manner
- Participating and adhering to company sustainability efforts
- Projects a favorable image of SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts to the public
- Consistently demonstrate our SilverBirch values – Engagement, Quality, Performance, Growth and Integrity
- Participating and adhering to our zero-waste program
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience is an asset
- Previous hotel cleaning experience is an asset.
- Previous experience using a variety of cleaning supplies, equipment and tools
- A positive attitude and a passion and drive to work and excel in the Hospitality Industry
- Able to multi-task and prioritize and meet deadlines. Excellent time management skills
- Highly motivated and can work rather independently
- Neat appearance, personably and approachable
- Able to work under pressure
- Team-player who is able to recognize the value of guests and associates
- Previous experience in cleaning and sanitation an asset
- Knowledge in WHMIS an asset
Working Conditions:
- Position requires standing, moving, bending
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
- Must be available to work all days of the week including weekends and holidays.
- Hours will vary depending on occupancy; this can be discussed during the interview.

Pay: $21.49-$28.65 per hour
