The Role
We are seeking a Regular Full-Time Systems Administrator (1.0 FTE). Reporting to the Director, Information Technology the Systems Administrator provides primary support for the physical and virtual server environment, and all related technologies including operating systems, services and utilities. The position is primary support for all cyber-related services used by EFW to protect all clinical and business applications. This position will require a high degree of technical aptitude, ability to manage multiple tasks and several projects simultaneously, detail oriented, organized, high degree of analytical and problem solving skills, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills whilst demonstrating empathy and determination to resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
Provide systems administration for all servers and related infrastructure, including any hardware and firmware updates and system software patches.
Analyze and troubleshoot technical and operational problems.
Work with software vendors to understand their product paths and work with management to plan for major upgrades as required.
Maintain hardware and software inventory, IP address inventory for all devices, password security, etc.
Manage the data center configuration including racks, cables and programing equipment.
Support all cyber service and cyber protection software including end point protection.
Participate in an on-call coverage rotation to provide support during non-business hours.

Performs other related duties as required.
You have the following
B.Sc. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
2 - 5 years of experience working in Systems Administration
Fluent in English – written and oral
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Security based Mindset
Strong client relationship skills, demonstrating empathy and determination to resolve issues
The ability to manage multiple tasks and several projects, and effectively complete those tasks with minimal supervision and a high degree of accountability
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
Server Administration (Windows, Unix/Linux), Network Administration, Backup, Storage management, Database Services, Virtualization, Web Services, Medical Applications, Email Servers (Exchange, O365), Security
Working Conditions
Regular business hours are typical for this position, incumbent will be on a rotational on call shift to meet the demands of the position including after hours and weekends.
Must have the ability to travel within Calgary and area for clinic and data center as operationally required.
Works in an office environment, with prolonged sitting and computer keyboarding.
Position is location at our Head Office in Calgary.
