Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate RECE (Registered Early Childhood Educator) or Child Care Professional to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care and education to children, supporting their developmental needs in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, classroom experience, and a passion for early childhood education. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's growth and learning while fostering a safe and engaging environment. This position is temporary maternity leave coverage with the opportunity for extending the contract.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children.
- Provide attentive supervision to ensure children's safety at all times.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members regarding children's progress and needs.
- Maintain organized classroom environments that support learning and play.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities through tailored activities and inclusive practices.
- Document observations and write reports on children's development milestones.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans and improve program quality.
- Utilize computer skills for record keeping, reporting, and communication purposes.
- Demonstrate leadership in guiding children through daily routines and transitions while fostering independence.
- Manage time efficiently to balance multiple responsibilities throughout the day.
Requirements
- Valid RECE certification or relevant Child Care qualification.
- Experience working with children in classroom settings or early childhood programs.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, including working with children with disabilities or special needs.
- Strong communication skills are essential.
- Ability to operate basic computer applications for documentation and communication tasks.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management abilities to handle daily routines effectively.
- Strong writing skills for maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to guide children confidently and professionally.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including children with special needs, is highly valued. Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
