Reporting to the IT Manager, based in Sherwood Park, our SharePoint Developer plays a pivotal role in driving our organization's technology initiatives. This position requires a proactive, project-driven individual who excels in facilitating change and demonstrates exceptional leadership skills. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, capable of understanding business processes quickly and executing tasks with minimal direction. As a SharePoint Developer, you will be responsible for configuring and managing our SharePoint environment, including designing and implementing document libraries, shared storage spaces, and backup procedures. Your role demands expertise in Windows operating systems and a strong ability to enhance the end-user experience through seamless integration and efficient online collaboration.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation and configuration of SharePoint sites, workflows, and applications to streamline business processes and enhance operational efficiency company-wide.
- Spearhead the design and deployment of a comprehensive SharePoint environment across the business, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and departmental needs.
- Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and provide ongoing support to ensure successful adoption and utilization of SharePoint throughout the organization.
- Collaborate with the Information Technology and Business Systems Department teams to develop custom SharePoint platform, installations, integrations, and departmental based libraries.
- Maintain network infrastructure and oversee encryption procedures, security zone configuration, and firewall management.
- Provide strategic insights into information architecture and governance to optimize data management practices.
- Develop and implement content migration strategies, data retrieval processes, and backup procedures to ensure data integrity.
- Perform regular maintenance on the SharePoint platform, including servers and intranet to ensure optimal performance.
- Implement robust data governance policies and procedures to uphold data quality and integrity.
- Ensure adequate storage capacity by performing regular data clean-ups and archiving.
- Manage user accounts, control access to document libraries, and configure permissions.
- Deliver comprehensive SharePoint training and support for end-users to ensure effective use of the platform.
- Proactively troubleshoot and resolve any SharePoint issues or malfunctions.
- Review usage and activity reports, making adjustments as needed to enhance user experiences and optimize platform performance.
- Stay updated with SharePoint advancements and trends, executing version updates and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements related to SharePoint.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions effectively.
- On-call support on a rotational basis, including weekends and holidays.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or similar is required.
- At least 2-4 years' experience as a SharePoint Developer.
- Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems, as well as SQL Server, Power BI, PowerShell, and Office 365.
- Knowledge of SharePoint tools, including ULS Logs, workflows, and SharePoint forms for tasks.
- Experience delivering thorough technical support and training for end-users.
- Superb collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Working knowledge, average capability of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and other commonly used office packages.
- Fluent in English with proven competencies in verbal and written communication, is required.
- Fluent in French with proven competencies in verbal and written communication, is an asset.
- Ability to be on-call on a rotational basis during weekends and statutory holidays.
- Successful completion of a criminal, education background checks and employer reference and verification before employment.
