J2K Properties (www.j2kproperties.ca) is looking for a full-time cleaner for several apartment buildings in Halifax. The Cleaner is primarily responsible to clean common areas (lobby, hallway, mailrooms bathrooms and amenities spaces, garbage rooms).
You may also be responsible to clean individual apartments at end of tenancy (move out cleans) and to clean /‘turn over’ 2 guest suites, as part of the regular work.
Most of the work will be performed as part of a routine weekly cleaning schedule. Additional work may be required at other buildings, to cover vacations or to complete special work related to our routine maintenance cycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to weekly cleaning schedule
- Log and manage cleaning checklists
- Inspect condition of designated common areas as scheduled
- Clean residential building floors (sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming)
- Service, clean and supply restrooms with required toiletries
- Empty public garbage bins (building exterior/amenities room/mail rooms) and clean as needed
- Clean and maintain vacant apartments, if needed
- Maintain a trash and debris-free environment in designated areas
- Remove rubbish, dirt and debris from grounds and property, if requested
- Monthly cleaning of specific areas (gyms, storage rooms etc), as needed
- Follow safety procedures in the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent accidents and/or damage
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven ability to work efficiently with good time management
- Good customer service skills and pleasant demeanor
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs. and work with industrial strength cleaners
- Able to climb stairs with equipment and supplies
- Must have a driver’s license and able to provide a criminal record check free of relevant convictions
This is a full-time position. Some weekend work may be required. Travel required between buildings. Actual work schedule and areas of responsibility will be specified at time of hire.
