Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Operations, the National Director of Operations is responsible for all aspects of operations for integrating acquisitions and new builds. Working in close collaboration with VPs and Regional Directors of Operations, this role also provides direction and turnaround support to existing communities.

This role will be highly interactive with the regional teams, real estate & investment teams, project managers, and strategic sourcing.

This position requires initiative, drive and the ability to build relationships and collaborate to deliver excellence in operations.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the integration of new builds and acquisitions, working closely with VPs and Regional Directors of Operations, National Directors, Development, Strategic Sourcing, IT and the Project Management Office;
As a cohesive working unit, partner with Regional Operations to plan and supervise all assigned activities for new builds and acquisitions to ensure seamless transition sustained success;
Assist in the establishment and achievement of Retirement’s short term and long term objectives to optimize financial returns by providing turnaround support to existing communities to ensure that revenue, operating margins, net operating income, Resident Satisfaction and Employee Engagement targets are achieved;
Implement and continuously improve standard operating procedures to support business objectives and the regulatory environment, while ensuring excellence in operations;
Identify best practices in operations and leverage across the division in close collaboration with VPs, Regional Directors of Operations and National Directors;
Engage with cross functional teams to ensure all projects are coordinated and drive quality and excellence in operations;
Attain targeted Resident Satisfaction and Employee Engagement;
Lead the smooth transition of properties sold;
Align with industry partners and associations as applicable for best practices;
To uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in Revera’s Code of Conduct;
Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education, Credentials and Experience:
Bachelors’ degree; MBA is considered an asset.
Proven experience with new builds, acquisitions, and turnaround of underperforming assets.
Minimum of 10 years of related experience in progressive management positions in Retirement.
Proven multi-site management, communication and financial acumen relevant to the position.
Proven track record of organizing and prioritizing work and managing multiple demands.
Proven ability to apply critical thinking to a variety of situations; develop methodologies for collecting and analyzing relevant data to audit program processes; monitor quality; identify problems and their root causes, and implement and monitor effective plans for improvement.
Experience using LEAN, CQI or other similar performance improvement methods.
Strong leadership and change management skills and demonstrated ability to influence the efforts and behaviors of others to achieve desired results.
Self-starter and independent worker able to manage multiple priorities and demands.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact effectively and build relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Excellent time management and organization skills to effectively respond to multiple priorities/deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective and creative problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work independently, as well as, part of a team of multidisciplinary professionals.
Identifies, develops and implements new and innovative solutions to turnaround challenged communities.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse, collaborative, and cross functional team oriented culture.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office with a working knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point programs. Working knowledge of Yardi platform is considered an asset.
Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel extensively within area of responsibility;
Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
