Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Corporate Quality Director to lead our organization’s quality management initiatives across all manufacturing and operational divisions. In this pivotal role, you will champion a culture of excellence by providing leadership and support to the organizations overall Quality Management System. This individual is responsible for the successful communication and implementation of new initiatives, targets and corporate procedures that focus on customer demands, customer satisfaction, prevention and a zero-defect culture. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence organizational success through innovative quality strategies and effective project management.
Responsibilities
- Establishes and directs implementation of WMG global quality standards and systems by understanding product and customer requirements
- Develop and execute overarching quality management strategies aligned with corporate goals to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and reports cost of quality, including warranty to executive management and ensure customer charges are accurate, reasonable and dealt with effectively
- Provides direction with problem solving, 8D reporting as necessary
- Oversee quality inspection procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal specifications.
- Manage APQP process and staff, including change management
- Coordinate cross-functional projects aimed at elevating product reliability, reducing defects, and streamlining manufacturing workflows.
- Interacts with customers, develops professional relationships, attends meetings
- Direct and manage Supplier Quality
- Ensures successful ISO implementation and maintenance at WMG locations
- Establish the organizations key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality metrics; monitor progress regularly, initiates improvement actions, and reports findings to executive leadership.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting best practices in QA/QC, training teams on quality standards, and encouraging proactive problem-solving.
- Hire and coordinate necessary training of new quality staff
- Maintains and supports customer service as a priority
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years in Community College/University with technical diploma or an Engineering degree preferred
- Minimum of 15yrs experience working in automotive mfg, with specific/specialized quality background (Tier 1 experience preferred)
- Demonstrated analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Proficient in the use of quality tools and measuring equipment. (micrometers, verniers, CMM, scanning equipment etc)
- Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with vendors, customers, and internal departments.
- Excellent leadership capabilities with the ability to influence teams at all levels while fostering a culture of excellence.
- Must be professional and presentable. Specific dress code required. .
- Highly competent in GD&T / Blueprint reading / specifications
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, AI, SPC software, APQP software
- Background in welding, metal-forming, soft trim, interiors, polyurethane, plastics is an asset
- Experienced with the 8D process and root cause analysis

Work Conditions

- Salary based upon 44-50hrs

Pay: $100,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
