We are a well-established hazmat company on Vancouver Island looking to grow our expanding workforce. We are seeking men and women for the position of Hazmat Worker based out of Nanaimo, BC. We are a licenced WorkSafeBC Asbestos Abatement company (Licence #AAL00001080).
Pay depends on experience. WorkSafeBC Level 2 Asbestos Safety Certificate holders will be given hiring preference.
Prior experience in demolition, hazardous materials or the trades is an asset .
Eligible for Health Benefits from start date. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
If you are ready to join our crew you will be able to do the following:
-Consistently be at work as scheduled
-Be physically fit and able to regularly lift 50 lbs
-Must be able to wear a full face mask (clean shaven).
-Have a valid BC Driver's Licence (this is an asset but not required)
-Be able to get to central pick-up points in Nanaimo if you don’t have your own transportation (jobs can start early before the buses are going)
-Be at least 18 years old
You must be able and willing to learn the following:
-Set up containment, clean-up site at the end of the day and remove mould, asbestos, lead and other hazardous materials under the direction of the site Lead.
-Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
-Operate hand and power tools of all types, and a variety of other equipment and instruments
-Learn and implement WorkSafeBC regulations
Personal Protective Equipment required:
-Steel Toed Boots
-All other job related PPE will be supplied at no cost.
