Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier / Customer Service Champion to join our team at our busy gas station in Kanata, Ontario. In this role, you will be the face of our store, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring accurate cash handling, maintaining a clean and organized environment, and following all company policies and provincial regulations.
The ideal candidate is reliable, enjoys interacting with customers, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in creating a positive shopping experience. You will also play an important role in promoting store products, maintaining stocked shelves, and ensuring compliance with all age-restricted sales policies, including tobacco, lottery, and alcohol.

Responsibilities
- Greet every customer with a friendly, welcoming, and professional attitude.
- Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers with purchases, fuel transactions, and general inquiries.
- Accurately process cash, debit, credit, mobile payments, lottery, and fuel transactions using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
- Balance cash drawer and ensure all transactions are completed accurately.
- Promote in-store products, loyalty programs, and current promotions to maximize sales.
- Prepare and serve fresh coffee, hot beverages, panini sandwiches, and other ready-to-eat food items while following food safety standards.
- Restock shelves, coolers, beverage stations, and merchandise to ensure products are always available and attractively displayed.
- Monitor product freshness, rotate stock (FIFO), and remove expired products.
- Receive and assist with inventory deliveries and ensure products are stored correctly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment, including washrooms, coffee station, food preparation areas, sales floor, and fuel forecourt.
- Perform regular cleaning of fuel pumps, garbage bins, windows, and exterior areas.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and Ontario regulations regarding the sale of tobacco, lottery, alcohol, and age-restricted products by checking valid identification when required.
- Follow all health and safety, food safety, and workplace security procedures.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cash reconciliation, store preparation, and securing the premises.
- Report equipment issues, maintenance concerns, inventory shortages, suspicious activities, or customer incidents to management promptly.
- Help prevent inventory loss by following cash handling procedures and reporting theft or policy violations.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient store operations during busy periods.
- Maintain a positive, professional appearance and represent the company with honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Perform other duties assigned by management to support the successful operation of the store.
