Our Vancouver, BC office has an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnical Co-op Student to join our Energy and Resources team throughout the Western Canada region in the fall of 2026 for a 4-month term.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide general support to engineers within the mining geotechnical group.
- Apply knowledge of the general concepts of relevant civil engineering concepts to assist with project work.
- Perform a variety of tasks which may include geotechnical engineering calculations, field work, contract administration, proposal preparation, obtaining quotes, and preparing basic reports and design criteria for projects.
- Apply technological skills using commonly used software such Microsoft Word, Excel, GeoStudio, and AutoCAD Civil 3D to assist with preparation of drawings.
- Perform due diligence and conduct research on projects as required to provide the background information to start new projects.
- The responsibilities outlined above are a general guideline; however, other responsibilities may be required to meet project and business demands.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Highly motivated, willing to work in a team-oriented environment, and ready to commit to Stantec's strategic initiative to be among the top 10 global design firms.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent communication skills are essential, including interpersonal, written, and verbal abilities to work within a multi-disciplined team environment.
- Must be well organized to be able to prioritize multiple tasks and effectively manage time.
- Willingness to participate in prioritizing the Health and Safety culture.
Education and Experience
- Students who have completed at least their 1st year (2 full terms) in an accredited Canadian engineering program are encouraged to apply.
- Prior experience functioning effectively in a team environment is important. Prior relevant work experience is valued but is not required.

Pay Range:
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
