Overview
We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing a variety of flooring materials in residential and commercial settings, ensuring high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, attention to detail, and proficiency with various tools and techniques related to flooring installation.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine the scope of work.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and repairing subfloors or existing flooring.
- Install different types of flooring such as tile, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and carpet according to specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively during installation.
- Measure spaces accurately to cut materials precisely for seamless fitting.
- Apply caulking, sealants, or adhesives as needed for secure installation.
- Perform finishing tasks including trimming, molding installation, and surface smoothing.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals such as carpenters, masons, or electricians when necessary.
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure safety protocols are followed on-site.
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding schematics for accurate installation planning.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation relevant to flooring installation.
- Knowledge of construction techniques including concrete forming, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and restoration is a plus.
- Ability to estimate construction costs and materials based on project scope.
- Skilled in tile laying, flooring installation, caulking, and concrete finishing.
- Familiarity with construction painting and cabinetry installation is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various construction environments. Pay: $20.00-$36.76 per hour
