At Pacific Smoke International, our mission is to help people quit smoking by providing safer alternatives to traditional cigarettes. As the leading distributor of electronic vaporizers and award-winning vaping products in Canada, we've made significant progress since our founding in 2013. However, we have much more to accomplish for our customers, and we're looking for a culturally aligned HR/Recruitment Assistant to join our dynamic team located in Markham.

The HR/Recruitment Assistant position will report directly to the HR Manager and HR department, and will be instrumental in providing support to the team.
The HR/Recruitment Assistant will:

Support the hiring team with recruiting needs, interview follow ups, and onboarding activities

Facilitate a smooth hiring process for both the hiring team and job applicants

Maintain the hiring department’s high degree of organization and efficiency by exhibiting meticulous attention to detail

Proof read communications materials, such as job postings, emails to candidates, and offer and rejection letters

Collaborate with the hiring team to help carry out streamlined onboarding processes
-
Perform clerical duties like emailing, handling paperwork, and processing background checks

Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates when required

Create job listings and post them online

Maintain an accurate, organized, and detailed candidate database
To be successful you should have:
-
Bachelor’s or Diploma in Human Resources Management and/or
-
Equivalent experience (1-3) years in Human Resources / Recruitment
-
Immaculate verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a group
-
Excellent problem-solving capabilities
-
Perceptive listening skills
-
Adeptness at using/learning applicant tracking system software, such as ADP or Humi
Additional skills considered an asset:
-
Experience working as a Recruiter assistant or HR assistant, or in a related roles
-
Razor Sharp attention to detail
-
Strong time management and organizational skills
-
Outstanding clerical skills, such as data entry, emailing, and scheduling
-
High degree of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
-
Resilience in the face of unexpected challenges and setbacks
